Our Staff

Our Staff

We are fortunate to have a group of very caring individuals who have worked as a team for many years. If it feels a bit chilly and you need a blanket, or just want to view a different movie, don't hesitate to ask any one of our staff. Our job is to do everything we can to make sure you're feeling relaxed and comfortable.

Front Office

Our front office staff is happy to help you with any scheduling, insurance or financial concerns. We will always greet you with a smile and treat you with the warm aloha people have come to expect from Dr. Lau's exceptional team.

After working in property management for 12+ years, Lorly decided to steer her myriad of skills into the dental field. She is currently the office Financial Coordinator, the last smiling face you see before you head out the door. Something you didn't know: Besides doing fun activities with her husband and two little princesses, Lorly loves to cook and hosts monthly themed dinners with close friends. What does she like about her job? "Time flies when you're having fun...and time always goes really fast at Dr. Lau's. I knew I made the right decision to work here."

Rosie is the calm, dependable center of the storm, our hard-working scheduling coordinator. She graduated from Kamehameha Schools in Upcountry Maui and attended Palomar College in San Diego. She loves tapping into her creativity – from making jewelry to designing ipu for hula dancers to painting.  Something you didn’t know: A natural outdoors person, Rosie is always out hunting and fishing.  Her family never complains because every week they get to eat something she’s caught! What does she like about her job?  “The family environment. Everyone was so welcoming, I felt at home from the first day.”

Originally from Kauai, Rena moved to Maui when she was eight years old. She went on to graduate from Baldwin High and later earned an Associate degree in Business Technology Information Processing from the University of Hawaii, Maui College.  Something you didn’t know: Rena started her career in Property Management where (like Wailuku Dental) “every day was definitely a learning experience.” What does she like about her job? “Dr. Lau is a wonderful mentor, the staff is amazing and I’m challenged to unbelievable heights!”

Our highly skilled and talented hygienists all have wonderful, caring personalities and provide meticulous care as they rehabilitate or help you maintain your periodontal health. Moreover, they understand your busy schedule and work hard to make sure your cleaning appointments are timely and convenient.

A Maui girl by birth and in spirit, Lisa has been a dental hygienist for 14 years. She once lived and worked in Tokyo but fortunately for us, returned to her roots to practice her profession. Something you didn’t know: Besides being Miss Valley Isle in 1992, Lisa got her Esthetician license and opened the Maluhia Day Spa in Dr. Lau’s office building. What does she like about her job? “Building a relationship with my patients and at the same time, helping them to maintain a healthy smile.”

Tricia is originally from Kirkland, Washington, went to dental hygiene school in Seattle then brought her considerable skills to us on Maui. If you don’t count “the pizza place,” dentistry has been her one and only job for 25 years. Something you didn’t know: Tricia loves reading and golf…although her number one passion is travel. Her goal is to go to some place new every year. What does she like about her job? “It has given me the opportunity to buy a home on Maui and live in a beautiful place where I really enjoy the people.”

Thanks to her U.S. Army dad, Cheryl moved from Savannah, Georgia to Maui no ka oi at the age of nine. After she graduated from Maui High School, she found her first job at the Makawao Post Office. The dental hygiene field and three children later, she’s landed at a new home away from home at Wailuku Dental Group.  Something you didn’t know:  Cheryl enjoys a wide range of hobbies – from photography to crafts to lei-making.  What does she like about her job? “Not only is Dr. Lau a great boss, the girls here are awesome! Everyone gets along and are all team players.”

Jen was born and raised in Paia, Maui, the youngest of three girls. Married since 2012, this “baby of the family” now has a baby boy of her own.  Jen graduated from Baldwin High School and studied to become a dental hygienist in Oregon. Something you didn’t know:  To get more hands-on experience as well as help other communities, Jen traveled to do volunteer dental work in Peru and Vietnam as part of her school program.  What does she like about her job?  “I love taking care of my patients and helping them live a healthy life.”

Clinical Assistants

Our clinical dental assistants are well-trained professionals who always have your comfort in mind as they work with Dr. Lau on your treatment.

Born and raised on Maui, Pikake started off in retail but ended up working in dentistry for the past 16 years. It helps that both fields center around “customer service” since she really likes meeting and working with people. Something you didn’t know: Pikake is an Oahu junkie -- playing tourist, visiting family and eating in all the restaurants. What does she like about her job? “I love seeing the transformation from an unhealthy mouth to a healthy, beautiful smile. So much happiness!”

"Hana" has lived in Maui most of her life and is one of the dedicated, longtime members of our dental staff. She has five beautiful children -- four boys and one little princess.  Something you didn't know: A devoted island mom, Hana loves going to the beach with her kids.  What does she like about her job?  "I love being in the dental field and coming to work at Dr. Lau's makes it even more enjoyable!"

Born and raised in the Philippines, Ofie is no stranger to dentistry.  She went to dental school in Manila and has a total of 28 years as a dental professional.  She loves working with patients to apply her clinical skills while gaining new knowledge as the profession continues to improve. Something you didn’t know:  Ofie loves joining dental missions so she can help people in need.  What does she like about her job?  “I love that Dr. Lau has the sweetest team and the latest technology.  I had worked with Dr. Lau for many years in the past, so when I returned, it felt like I found my home again.”

Although she’s in dentistry now, Zee worked in the food industry for a good portion of her professional career, most recently at Foodland. She loves traveling, hiking in the mountains and spending time with family and friends. Something you didn’t know: Zee is obsessed with anything Disney, from vintage Disney collectibles to the latest, greatest Disney merchandise on the shelf. What does she like about her job?  “My co-workers make coming to work every day a great experience but I really like getting to know the patients.  Each one is like my extended family.”

Maluhia Day Spa

Besides being an excellent dental hygienist, Lisa is also a certified Esthetician -- especially in demand for facials and proven skin care products. The next time you have your teeth cleaned, ask her about the wonderful Maluhia Day Spa services available to you.
